When you see a physiotherapist, he or she will complete an extensive assessment that may include your health history, evaluation of pain and movement patterns, strength, joint range of motion, reflexes, sensation and cardiorespiratory status. In addition physiotherapists may examine relevant x-rays, laboratory tests, medical records and surgical notes to better tailor your treatment. Wear shorts, tank tops, comfortable cloths and footwear
When you see a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), you will complete a medical case history form and discuss your treatment goals and reasons for seeking care. An individualized treatment plan will be developed between you and your therapist based on your needs. Your RMT will discuss treatment techniques that will be used. The treatment can be changed any time you wish and will be reassessed at an appropriate, agreed upon time. The length of your treatment can be discussed with the massage therapist and can range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes. So book your assessment today and put yourself at ease! Your muscles will thank-you!!
On your first visit to Spinal Care Clinic's office, you can expect professional courtesy, answers to your concerns, and a clear chiropractic treatment plan for your pain relief and restoration of your quality of life. The first visit will be a bit paperwork intensive - payment information, privacy issues and office guidelines as well as some patient questions about your pain and health history. Once this information is taken down, it will quickly proceed to your comprehensive examination with the chiropractor which will, in turn, lead to your diagnosis that establishes a baseline for your chiropractic treatment care plan and result oriented expectations. We look forward to your visit!
Naturopathic medicine is a blend of science and traditional/natural forms of medicine. The naturopathic philosophy is to stimulate the healing power of the body and treat the underlying cause of disease. Naturopathic Medicine emphasizes disease as a process rather than a diagnosis. Treatment is drawn from a number of modalities such as Orthomolecular/Holistic nutrition, Botanical medicine, Counseling, and Traditional Chinese medicine/Acupuncture.
Naturopathic doctors (NDs) focus on disease prevention and improving a patient's overall health. They are trained to provide collaborative care and work with other health care professionals. Naturopathic doctors will commonly receive referrals for acupuncture to treat infertility or migraines, nutritional therapy for high cholesterol or irritable bowel syndrome, and herbal and lifestyle therapies for chronic stress, allergies and asthma. NDs will also receive referrals for patients who have unresponsive chronic and complicated conditions.
Many work benefit plans cover your visits and lab testing with your Naturopathic Doctor, and a referral is no
t necessary to see an ND.Yes. In order to practice in Canada, Naturopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists must be registered with their respected colleges. We only employ registered professionals at Southmount/Halton Physiotherapy & Wellness.
During the initial assessment you will be asked if you want this information shared with your doctor. With your written consent we will send over an initial assessment letter and provide your doctor with regular progress notes.
After completing a detailed assessment, and your condition is diagnosed, your therapist will work with you to formulate a personalized treatment program based on your goals. Therefore the frequency and duration of your treatment will depend on the outcome of the initial assessment and will be discussed with you at that time.
